am Bettie Simmons, your new Member At Large. A lot of you know me but for those that don't a little background on me. I am
from Spokane, WA, born and raised. I am married to my husband Jim, have a dog and a
cat, am always tired from dispatching nights and running my business by day and seldom would I change that. I am past President
of WTTA, have been on the board in one capacity or another from 1993, most recently as District 4 Chair. I am a 2nd generation
Tower, as is my brother, Robin Merrill, whom owns Rouses Towing, here in Spokane. I took over from my father and had not been
working at the business before, had a huge learning curve but learning made me passionate about Towing. I will continue to do my best for all members.

Kurt was born in Bremerton, Washington and attended schools in Silverdale. After high school, he moved to Moses Lake to farm with his cousin. They
raised potatoes, wheat, peas, and sugar beets. Kurt also raised Belgium horses and
at one time, had a team of 8 horses and a wagon that was featured in many local parades, weddings, and even funerals in the
region. In 1995, Kurt decided to go into the towing business and opened up Moses Lake
towing. Three years later, in 1998, he expanded to the small town of George, Washington,
on interstate 90 just east of the Columbia River, and started George Washington towing. The
two companies were combined under the name Kurtz Equipment and operated that way until 2004 when he sold Moses Lake towing
to Alan Mathyer. Kurt is married to Donna and they have 4 adult children, 2 boys and
2 girls. Kurt has been very active in both WTTA and TRAW and has been TRAW president
for 2 terms, past president, and is on his second term as district 6 chair which covers all of north central Washington. His first time at an association event was at the WTTA Expo in Olympia in 1996
